My experiences co-founding “Rish official” a content management agency
During my early high school days, I used to stutter. This made me shy away from presentations and public speaking, and it was extremely difficult for me to avoid them. In order to avoid being embarrassed due to my stuttering, I always tried to find a way out of the situation, which affected my self-confidence greatly.
All of a sudden, because of the lockdown, my school’s busy life comes to a halt. I had so much time for the very first time. During that time, I discovered blogging. It intrigued me since I’ve always loved writing stories and essays, so I thought it would be a worthwhile option. However, after doing some research, I discovered that SEO is not as easy as I thought. I also have to learn more about search engine optimization in addition to writing. Having completed some free online courses, done some research, and all that, I was ready to launch my first blogging site where I used to review movies.
Since I had always been involved in film-making, I had no problem watching movies. Moreover, I had access to OTT, which helped me choose my blogging niche. Though blogging was a pleasant experience, soon I got bored and wasn’t finding it fruitful, so I decided to start developing websites.
After learning web development for the first time, I was about to start my first start-up with my two elder cousins. Despite our lack of knowledge and time commitment, this was my first time participating in a start-up. I was still able to work on a proper web project. This gave me the opportunity to explore a lot of stuff and finally develop my confidence as a developer. In spite of the fact that this e-commerce startup failed,
I felt confident enough to start something of my own, and together with 2 friends, we came up with the idea of a website that would provide free online courses for the skills we are proficient in, such as blogging, Python, editing, etc. Although even this venture failed in the development period itself due to the lack of resources and experience, mostly due to a lack of teamwork, I was able to complete the website.
We had to give up on the site due to boards and concentrate on studying, but I was restless and after the board exams (2021) were canceled, I started working on the ideas and learning new skills, and I also polished my subskills that I learned then, such as graphic design and video editing. Then, after a period of creative stagnation, I came up with the idea of Rish official, a service-based website for content creators. However, this time, I learned from my mistake and focused on team building, and Rish official actually grew over time. In 2021, we grew from a service-based site to a content management agency, hiring our first set of talent. This was a huge boost for us, and we soon finished 100+ projects by February 2022.
In its first year, Rish Official grew so rapidly that we were already a year old before we realized it had evolved from a service-based website into a full-fledged content management service. Recently, we again expanded our team and hired another set of talent, and finally, after hustling for an entire year, I have this new positive energy, the learner mindset, and moreover the hunger to learn.
I learned a lot from the failures of these startups at a very young age, which helped me to create my own content management agency (RISH OFFICIALS) last year with three other friends.
From managing clients to getting clients to team management, it has been an excellent experience for me. It has taught me a lot, and that too at a very grassroots level. It is no longer difficult for me to balance my studies with my entrepreneurial journey, and I do not regret failing at my first two startups because I guess I am too young. I have a lot to learn and explore in my journey.
My favorite way to learn things is through practical implementation. I learned all the skills this way, and I will make sure that that is the way I learn and master every skill going forward.
